About Us
PRIMES Pediatric Development Center was founded in 2023 in Dumont, New Jersey, with a clear mission: to provide families with a trusted home for early childhood support. From the start, our vision has been to bring leading professionals together under one roof so parents of young children can find the guidance and answers they need in one welcoming place.
Specializing in Children Ages 0–6: We focus exclusively on the first six years of life, the most important window for growth and development. Every therapist is chosen for their expertise and passion for working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. This ensures that children always receive care from professionals who truly understand the unique challenges and milestones of these early years.

Interdisciplinary care - In the early years, development unfolds quickly across all domains: motor, sensory, language, and more. These areas grow side by side, are deeply interconnected, and constantly influence one another. A difficulty in one domain may actually stem from another, or in turn affect skills elsewhere. This is why collaboration within our team is considered essential. At times, it may not be required, but when it is, parental consent allows therapists to consult with colleagues from related fields. This exchange of perspectives deepens our understanding, sharpens the diagnosis, and helps us design more precise treatment plans, leading to more effective support for each child.

Our founder
PRIMES was founded by Dr. Shamir, a child development specialist with more than 20 years of clinical experience. She specializes in both prevention and treatment of a wide variety of sensory-motor challenges in early childhood. Her vision for PRIMES grew out of a desire to “spread the word” about evidence-based methods that bring fast, effective solutions to many developmental concerns parents face in the first years of life.

From the very first phone call, we want parents to feel reassured and welcomed. Our office is designed to be calm and child-friendly, with spaces for play, learning, and connection. We’ll guide you step by step through the process, whether you’re here for a screening, an evaluation, or ongoing therapy.
