School Readiness Workshop
Skills, confidence & support for a smooth school start
You want your child to walk into their first day of kindergarten feeling confident, capable, and excited - not overwhelmed. But it's normal to wonder:
Will they be able to follow the routine?
Will they know how to manage their things - or their feelings?
Will they be ready to learn in a group setting?
As summer approaches, many parents are looking for meaningful ways to prepare their child for this big transition. This workshop is a gentle, supportive opportunity to build key skills that help children feel more ready - and a little less nervous - when the first day arrives.
Led by a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, this 4-week, small-group program helps kids strengthen the practical, emotional, and physical skills they’ll use every day in the classroom.

Who this is for
This workshop is perfect for children getting ready to start kindergarten, families who want to gently build real-world skills through fun and supportive activities, and little ones who could use a bit of extra practice with attention, coordination, transitions, or growing independence.
What to Expect
Join our 4-week in-person program where your child can learn, play, and build skills in a small, supportive group. Each 45-minute session is led by a caring Pediatric Occupational Therapist. The full program is $155 for 4 sessions.
Each session is followed by a handout for parents with suggested activities and strategies to continue at home

What we’ll work on
Week 1: My body in control - Self-regulation & Group participation
Children will learn how to stay with the group, follow classroom-style routines, and manage transitions. Activities will support listening, waiting, taking turns, and beginning to manage big feelings - all in a playful and supportive setting.
Week 2: Fine motor fun - Hands ready for learning
We’ll strengthen hand muscles and coordination with cutting, gluing, drawing, and other pre-writing tasks. Kids will gain comfort using common classroom tools and develop the control needed for daily school tasks like writing their name, using scissors, and more.
Week 3: Big moves & Big focus - Gross motor & Attention skills
Obstacle courses and movement games will support balance, body awareness, and motor planning. At the same time, we’ll practice sustaining attention, following directions, and managing energy in group activities.
Week 4: I can do it! - Independence & Everyday problem solving
In our final session, kids will practice the everyday tasks of school life: opening lunch containers, packing up belongings, managing clothing, and handling small frustrations. We'll encourage confidence, flexible thinking, and asking for help when needed
