Five Signs Your Child May Not Be Getting the Right Therapy Support

🚩 Here are 5 red flags to watch out for:

1️⃣ “He’s just lazy” – If professionals dismiss your child’s struggles as laziness instead of recognizing real challenges, it’s a sign something isn’t right. Every child learns differently and deserves patience and the right support.

2️⃣ “Ignore the crying, they’ll stop” – If you’re told to ignore your child’s distress instead of addressing their needs with care, it might not be the right approach. Therapy should feel safe and supportive.

3️⃣ You’re left out of the process – If you’re not given home exercises or guidance, you’re missing a key part of therapy. Parental involvement is crucial for real progress.

4️⃣ “Parents are a distraction” – If you’re told you shouldn’t observe or participate in sessions because you “interfere,” that’s a red flag. A great therapist sees parents as partners in the process.

5️⃣ You don’t see progress – If weeks or months go by and there’s no noticeable change, it’s time to ask questions. Therapy should lead to growth, even if it’s gradual.

If any of these sound familiar, it may be time to explore a better approach. We’re here to help! 💙

✅ The right therapy is about respect, collaboration, and real progress!
